ages 15 to 24

Today Minister Trina ‘Simone’ Bryant also known as Daughter of Zion officially releases her new single Prodigal Child. It is the
first official release from her new project, Livin By My Faith, which is
scheduled to debut October 2013.
The release of the single’s
music video will premiere on World Suicide Prevention Day September 10, 2013.
The release of the single and video are strategically designed to coincide with
National Suicide Prevention Month which is in September.
“Suicide can affect
anyone. It does not matter your age, race, gender or religion. Sometimes we
think that suicide is only happening to those who we label as hard to deal with
or un-churched, but it isn’t. It can affect anyone! So we are gearing up to bring
more awareness to our communities about this issue and to let those, who are
dealing with suicidal tendencies, know that there is hope.” said Daughter of
Zion.
The song and music video focus on teen scenarios, such as
bullying, that can lead to a sense of depression, hopelessness, and loneliness.
Suicide remains one of the top 3 leading causes of death for young people
between the ages of 15 to 24. Statistics
also show that 1 person completes suicide every 14 minutes leaving
approximately 5 million Americans directly affected by a suicide.
Throughout the month Daughter of Zion will use her single’s
release as a way to exhort, equip, and
empower the body of Christ in addressing a topic that often carries a stigma
and is rarely talked about openly. This year’s World Suicide Prevention theme
is: Stigma A Major Barrier to Suicide Prevention.
Daughter of Zion’s Facebook page will not only include her
new single and music video, but it will also become a platform of resources
concerning suicide prevention. “Often times the signs for suicide can go
unnoticed in our society. We are providing professional resources that will
help identify the warning signs and tips on how to help a person who may be
contemplating suicide.” said Daughter of Zion.
On the page fans and supporters can find the suicide hotline
number, support for families who have lost someone to suicide, information
about the warning signs, encouragement, and helpful links. The resource page
will also debut on Tuesday September 10, 2013 World Suicide Prevention Day and
will be located at: www.facebook.com/livingbymyfaith.
